The town of Stowe might ring a bell if you are a skier, a mountain biker, a hiker, or if you love The Sound of Music. This small mountain town at the base of Mount Mansfield will have you singing “The Hills Are Alive” after a trip up to the Trapp Family Lodge, a venture on the accessible bike path, a hike up the Pinnacle trail, a dip in the pool at the Stowehof Hotel, or a drive through Smuggler’s Notch.

Beauty, charm and activities are around every corner of this community, leaving residents feeling like they are always on vacation. There aren’t many places where you can head to the mountains and squeeze in 10 ski runs before your 10am work call, or take your mountain bike out on your lunch break to ride Cady Hill before wrapping up the second half of your day. Stowe Mountain Resort also offers ice skating in the winter (which is free when you bring your own skates!), and hosts a number of summer events in the warmer months, including live music and food trucks. If you feel like having a quiet afternoon closer to town, the Stowe Free Library hosts an annual summer book sale and is an excellent resource for finding out about local events, or just kicking back in one of their rocking chairs on their large front porch with a good book.

Stowe is not the kind of town where you’ll find chain stores or generic restaurants. Instead, you’ll find a number of locally owned businesses that provide the 4,421 residents and those who might be visiting, with unique and personal shopping and dining experiences. Cork Wine Bar, AJ’s Ski and Sports, Woodland Baking and Coffee, Bunya Bunya, The Bagel, Ranch Camp, Stowe Cider, Kula Yoga Studio, Well Heeled, and Stowe Cinema 3Plex are just a few of the many thriving businesses that are owned by residents and bring a deep sense of community and connection to those who live there.

We’re excited to join this tight knit community with our new office location on the Mountain Road. We’re drawn to Stowe’s commitment to small business, Vermont values, and the mountain lifestyle.

Stowe is served by the Lamoille South Unified Union School District with Stowe Elementary and Stowe Middle and High School serving 800 students from Pre-K through Grade 12. Both schools stand amongst the top-rated schools in Vermont with a student to teacher ratio of 16:1 in the elementary school and 14:1 in the middle/high school.

Whether you enjoy a crisp day on the slopes, a gentle float down a river, leaf peeping on a nature walk, strolling through the epic farmer’s market, or pampering yourself at a spa, Stowe has you covered. The sense of community is strong in Stowe and whether you choose to make this spot an investment, or home, you’ll be making the right choice.
